Bungosou Hospital was founded in 1952. In 1988 it was relocated to the present facility. Since it's inception Bungosou Hospital has promoted a longstanding commitment to excellence in patient care and clinical and medical services.


The city of Ishioka and Bungosou Hospital are set in front of beautiful Mt. Tsukuba. A variety of flowers grow year round. Visitors to the hospital during spring are greeted by a lovely corridor of cherry blossoms. There is a shaded park located on the hospital grounds where patients can enjoy nature. Farmers nearby cultivate tea, fresh fruits and vegetables.

Map and Directions

  • Bungosou Hospital is accessible via JR and Express lines.
  • From JR get off at Hatori Station. Bungosou Hospital operates a shuttle bus service every two hours from the station to the hospital. Travel time is approximately fifteen minutes.
  • You may also take JR bus. Please consult local timetables.
  • Express trains stop at Ishioka station. Ishioka station is approximately twenty minutes by taxi from RBH.
  • Travel time from Ueno via JR/Joban Highway is approximately 80 minutes.

Admission Information

The following procedures are required at the main reception desk. An admission application must be signed (sealed) by the patient and the guarantor. An insurance certificate (i.e. employee's health insurance certificate, national health insurance certificate, elderly health insurance certificate, public funding certificate) must be submitted. A deposit of 50,000 JPY is required. The patient's private money is separate and must be left for personal expenses.

Items brought into the hospital should be limited to personal items. The following items are required. -Pajamas or other nightwear, washing items, robe, exercise shoes, training suit, etc. A small radio / cassette player is permitted. Items such as knives, swords, lighters and the like are prohibited.
 


Consultation for Admittance

When you are anxious from disease, many things may worry you. A social worker is available to answer your questions and concerns and to ease your worries. Please do not hesitate to take advantage of this service. Consultation services are located at the main entrance to the right.
